SIENA. Il 25 giugno, alle ore 18.30, nell’Aula magna del Rettorato, il Coro dell’Università di Siena, composto da studenti, docenti e personale tecnico-amministrativo sotto la direzione di Elisabetta Miraldi, si esibirà insieme al Whim’n Rhythm Choir Musical dell’Università di Yale diretto da Violet Barnum.
Whim ‘n Rhythm è un gruppo di canto a cappella femminile di senior fondato nel 1981 e composto da tredici delle migliori cantanti soprano-alto senior di Yale. Da quando è stata fondata, le membri di Whim ‘n Rhythm hanno registrato album in studio professionali e hanno viaggiato in ogni continente per condividere il loro talento e l’amore per il canto con il pubblico di tutto il mondo, promuovendo anche il ruolo delle donne nell’istruzione superiore e nella musica. Hanno cantato alla Casa Bianca, in diverse ambasciate degli Stati Uniti in Asia, Europa, Africa e Oceania, e si sono esibite per l’ex presidente Bill Clinton e gli ex segretari di Stato Hillary Clinton e John Kerry.
Il repertorio delle Whim ‘n Rhythm spazia dalla musica standard jazz vivace a successi pop contemporanei e ballate folk tradizionali. Aggiornando frequentemente il loro repertorio, negli anni hanno creato una collezione di musica adattabile a diversi contesti, come cene, matrimoni, eventi festivi e assemblee scolastiche.
